The other day I was in the Gap buying my brother clothes for his birthday! Obviously, I was in the men's section. I was in the sale isle because I'm cheap and Gap is well...pricey. The entire time I was shopping I wished I could buy pants like boys do, they have their exact size, height, waist, etc., then I found the perfect shirt in the mens section. It was so soft I wanted to cuddle with it.
Out of boredom I decided to venture over to the ladies wear. And then something weird happened. Something I have never experienced. Something that has never happened to me before. I came down with a case of love at first sight.
I was a little embarrassed. In my head I was convinced that this wasn't right or I'm not that kind of girl. But I followed my awkward instincts. . . . I listened to my heart and shut out my head.
In that moment I fell in love with my new boyfriend....shirt!
I have never fallen in love with a piece of clothing. But this white collar, button down, boyfriend shirt is soft, cuddly, and beautiful!
Love Love Love,
Krystal
P.S. The shirt was pricey, but I had a coupon (thank you T), so then I bought two soft V-necks.
P.S.S. A day later I had to go buy some skinny jeans to go with my shirt. So, I bought a pair of jeggings and a bright pink V-Neck shirt.
P.S.S.S Since then I have had to freeze my credit cards. I'm addicted!

Change
Change either scares you or excites you. I used to fear change because I was afraid. I was afraid of forgetting the past. But now I don't fear change as much. Change is necessary in order to progress. The hard part is letting go and moving on. But how do you let go? How do you allow yourself to move on?
One of the best ways I have found to help myself let go is to write. I write in my journal , I write scripts, and I write on my blogs. That way I can read about my fears. Writing helps because you know you have documented your life. So, when things change you can always go back to reminisce on the past.
There is a quote from the television show, "Everwood", that sticks out in my head whenever I think of change. The main character Ephraim wrote a paper on change. I'm pretty sure it was Greg Berlanti, the writer, who actually wrote it. It's really amazing and I think it sums up how the world thinks about change.
"The more things change, the more they stay the same. I'm not sure who the first person was who said that. Probably Shakespeare. Or maybe Sting. But at the moment, it's the sentence that best explains my tragic flaw, my inability to change. I don't think I'm alone in this. The more I get to know other people, the more I realize it's kind of everyone's flaw. Staying exactly the same for as long as possible, standing perfectly still... It feels safer somehow. And if you are suffering, at least the pain is familiar. Because if you took that leap of faith, went outside the box, did something unexpected... Who knows what other pain might be out there, waiting for you. Chances are it could be even worse. So you maintain the status quo. Choose the road already traveled and it doesn't seem that bad. Not as far as flaws go. You're not a drug addict. You're not killing anyone... Except maybe yourself a little. When we finally do change, I don't think it happens like an earthquake or an explosion, where all of a sudden we're like this different person. I think it's smaller than that. The kind of thing most people wouldn't even notice unless they looked at us really close. Which, thank God, they never do. But you notice it. Inside you that change feels like a world of difference. And you hope this is it. This is the person you get to be forever... that you'll never have to change again."
And yet you change.
Love Love Love,
Krystal Dey
P.S. "Everwood" is a great series. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a series to watch on DVD or to add to your Netflix Que..
P.S.S. I hope everyone has a great holiday and I wish everyone luck on their New Year's resolutions.

"Step inside Krystal's head. It's a scary little world"
Wow! This is one of my last posts for class. I wonder if I'll maintain this blog. I will try. I mean next time you read my blog you might see actual pictures of me or hear my favorite tunes as you click from one post to another. The truth is I haven't had time to put all that "stuff" on my blog. The actual truth is I am a blog cheater. I have another blog that I update a lot more. It is about TV. I will give ya'all (what am I from Texas? ...I wish) the web address when I make it better. It's about one of my favorite things in all the land, television. Woo hoo! Yes, I have a blog dedicated to my love for TV. Stay posted and I'll link you to it.
Well my head is a scary place, good scary, not bad scary. So I guess I hope that you guys stay tuned to my blog and you enjoy learning more about me.
Peace and Love,
Krystal Dey
P.S. When I blog I feel like I am in a movie and my blog is a voiceover. It's great. There is one movie from my teenage years called, "The Perfect Man" starring Hilary Duff. haha. Anywho, she blogs and calls herself the traveling gypsy. Yeah...I guess I am saying I feel like Hilary Duff. In that movie. The leading man is Ben Feldman. He is currently on a Lifetime series "Drop Dead Diva" and he is pretty awesome in it. Wow! I cannot believe I just referenced a Hilary Duff movie and a Lifetime series. But seriously check out the show. It's actually pretty good.

Ashamed...
I do not like a certain franchise that has to do with the V word. (You'll figure it out). I call it TWIGFLU. (I dare you to figure that one out to.) But recently it looks like I am a "closet" fan because I have a magazine with KS in my backpack (hey, I have a subscription and she is on the cover) and I have another magazine with the heartthrob TL on the cover of "Rolling Stone" under my bed (I also have a subscription).
I am ashamed. As you can tell I can't even say the "real" names because I am so ashamed. As I said before I try and find the good in things. So here's my good...Taylor Lautner is dreamy. What!?! Now I am a creeper because I am older than him and he is under 18, but I don't heart him because of the V word franchise, but because of the "Rolling Stone" issue. He is a good kid. Just read the article. He is one of the few "nice" in Hollywood fellas.
Those of you who know me well, know that I do my research before a celeb becomes a favorite of mine, so I guess it's a pretty big deal. I can usually pick them well. For instance, Taylor Swift. (Weird connection, she is romantically-linked to the Taylor I mentioned above.) Anywho, I knew she would be huge one day. She is so nice that you can't help but love her. You don't have to be a fan of her music, but you can be a fan of her as a person. I think that Taylor Lautner will be the one big star who comes from the TWIGFLU-ness. Take my word for it. Now I am just rambling, but so will Justin Bieber. He sings "One Time" this kid is genius. I also have a slightly older crush on him and he's from Canada so I can't help but love him.
P.S. I have been studying all day and I literally haven't talked to anyone for 3 hours, hence the rambling. I talk a lot.
Peace and Love,
Krystal Dey
P.S.S. I think I"m supposed to do the P.S. after my signature. OopS!
P.S.S.S I just realized I am a magazine junkie. I love reading about entertainment. I have a subscription to "Rolling Stone", 17, and I just subscribed to EW.
P.S.S.S.S Spread some holiday cheer this year and go get yourself a copy of December's "Rolling Stone".

Christmas is Here and Randomness!
Christmas is my favorite holiday. Not because of the presents (but it doesn't hurt), but because of the feeling you get from everyone around you. More people are giving and are more friendly during the holiday season, I wish the world acted this way all year. But I am guilty as charged. Around the holiday season I think of service to do or people to help more during the holiday than I do during any other month. ( I just made a New Year's Resolution in my head to be better.)
Today it snowed a lot. Oh boy! I wish I could love the snow more. I try and find good in everything, but I just don't like the snow. I mean I love to make snowmen, sledding, hot chocolate, and snow angels. But besides that my mind is pretty set that I would rather live by a warm beach.

"The Proposal" Movie Review
A few months ago I went to "The Proposal" in theaters. The romantic-comedy was occasionally funny and I loved Ryan Reynolds' acting. However, I did not enjoy the script. I felt like it was an adaption of many cable movies I have watched. The whole I have a fake fiance and I am now in love with him thing didn't really impress me. It could have been an amazing movie, but the script didn't flow well. There were some really unrealistic parts of the movie. At one point a bird almost ate a dog and a phone. I think the writer just added strange things because the script had to flow.
I have recently re-watched it now that it is out on DVD and my opinion still hasn't changed. My whole family loves it and they think I am their cynical family member because I am a film major and I look at films differently now. Would I recommend this movie? I guess it depends on the person. If you love romantic-comedy's go for it, if you love Ryan Reynolds watch it, but if you're like me and you're sick of the fake fiance thing do not watch it.
Peace and Love,
Krystal
P.S. There is one ABCFamily movie that was actually called, "My Fake-Fiance" starring Melissa Joan Heart and Joey Lawrence and I didn't mind that one because I didn't expect it to be good or funny, so it ended up being better than I though. (But isn't that how it goes, if you expect something to be good it usually isn't and if you expect something to suck it's better than expected?) The script was weird and had a nonsense Mafia thing to it, but besides that I have a crush on the old teen heart throb Lawrence brother.

A Christmas Story
Last week I went to the play, "A Christmas Story" up at the University of Utah. I learned that it was an adaptation of the movie. I guess I have been living in a bubble because I have never even heard or watched the movie. I absolutely loved the play. It was entertaining, creative, and funny. The acting was incredible, I was so impressed by the little boy. My favorite thing about the play was the stage production. It was the most creative set I have ever seen. They had set changes instantly because everything was on wheels already on stage. They would pull out the house, light post, christmas store, or classroom as they needed.
The script flowed well and the actors really embraced their characters. It was a great adaptation of a movie. I really enjoyed the production. They did a great job, I can't wait to watch the classic movie.
